RPG Adventuring Party - The Exceptionals

Tabletop Role Playing Games offer the potential to combine vivid theater of the mind with vibrant improv in the best kind of way, evoking a vision in the mind of each player of how the party looks as they play through their adventure storyline. This particular adventuring party recently earned a name for themselves within their campaign, and from this momentous benchmark stemmed the perfect opportunity to realize and immortalize their characters through the creation of an adventuring team portrait! 

Okay, I'll admit it. This is a campaign I play in, and these are my adventuring companions and me. I did this project for fun, on a tight schedule, while I was in the midst of inspiration. I knew if I set it aside it may never find time to get back to it, so I carved out a few hours and set hard deadlines for sketching, inking, and digitizing.

The party consists of a rag-tag band of misfits with various quirks and eccentricities and eclectic array of physical appearances. In the preliminary sketch below, from left to right we have an earth elemental, a dragon humanoid, a goblin, a bird humanoid, and an elf.

Since time was limited, I decided to ink it by hand, then scan it so it could be added to a action movie poster-style digital project.

I absolutely realize it could be further refined, but the rough cheesiness of the finished project pictured below is remarkably fitting for the feel of the campaign and characters.
